YouTuber Gnutzguy did a stock installation and test video for the gen 2 stock:
Thanks Ustauk. I actually watched that video last night.
I'm glad Gnutzguy makes these videos.
I'd do the instillation similarly, but I'd probably center punch the stock through the receiver so the bit doesn't walk into the receiver so much.
Throw that thing off a bridge and see if it still holds together, lol.
At this point I will stick to my original stock and just put a screw into the stock (pre drilled of course) as initially suggested here.
I wonder how many people will screw up drilling the holes.
Done the work this afternoon right after received the kits. It's not that difficult, you can't go much wrong angle since the holes on receiver are very tight. All you have to do is drill halfway from both sides and you should be fine.
Installed mine , pins were tight , I mixed up some epoxy and filled some of the open spaces on the bottom by the trigger, along the seams and at the back below the dust cover just so there is no open spaces just for that exter strength . Got to do some shooting today first time sence i purchased it at he first of march. Stock seems nice and solid as compared to it breaking when i had it sholdered when i racked the bolt for the first time. I had lots of time to polish the trigger (recomend highly) and other surfaces, I really enjoy this rifle ! now to attach a reduclas overkill scope lol
Got my replacement stock. Looks good and comes with the hardware including a drill bit.
I hope someone makes a video on how to install this.
I’m mechanically inclined but I’m not sure how I’d drill a straight hole for the two side pins. Drill press? I don’t have one.
Regardless, I’m not in any hurry and will wait for someone to provide definitive instructions.
Maybe you can show some pictures what you did?
it would be cool to run the SR with the side rail mounted magnified optic and a rear sight block mounted 45 degree offset red dot
just sayin'
