Hey guys, well just like the title says I am in the market for an AR-10(.308 AR), wanting it mostly for long range shooting. I have been doing a bit of research but would like a second opinion. The DPMS REPR has really caught my eye, also just found a decently priced Armalite AR-10 but would need some modifications hah.

I have a Colt 901, 1 MOA rifle, and well it's a Colt. Take a look at the RECON, there are a couple of owners on here. It has some draw backs but overall it gets good reviews.

Well price wise it's about the same as the DPMS REPR.

Dpms g2 rifles are hands down the best bang for the buck.
Light and compact as an ar 15, very accurate and better than average build quality.

The REPR is obsolete. It was a lightened G1 SASS with an un named high end barrel. The current G2 is a better solution and less expensive. A G2 SASS would be better than the previous REPR model. Unless it was a smoking clearance sale I would avoid it. I definately wouldn't pay the top end retail price in light of the G2.

The new pmag compatible Armalite rifles are here. This makes it a tough call. I would likely still choose the Armalite for target or for the SASS model over the G2. But if going for a 16" AR308 then the G2 hands down.

Again this is at retail prices. There have been some exceptional deals on the previous models that for the right person would frankly be a better buy. A smoking deal can change the decision process a lot more difficult.

This interests me. But, what about a NR 308, like a RFB, or XCR? More money yes. Better quality, accuracy, dependability?
Just fishing for some input. As Ive been thinking of purchasing another 308.

Only advantage to those rifles is non restricted status. AR is better built, more reliable, and has much better accuracy.

The M&P10 looks like a well made and well priced AR10 type rifle to consider. Also, PSA is coming out with their own PA10's (soonish I think), which will definitely be worth considering.

^x2 and here we go.:stirthepot2:

I would be taking a close look at the Armalite deals at Wolverine if you wanted your AR-10 asap, you really can't go wrong at those prices.
