Include a Location please....rant

I do a fair bit of searching the EE's. It previously made me laugh to see people post WTS ad's that they would not ship, local only, with no clue what local means.

The location on your profile does not have to include your actual address, but some clue here for people like me who prefer FTF trades.

I live in Langley, most bridges over the Fraser river are tolled now. This is going to influence whether i think the deal is worth responding too. Seeing someone post a item at 90% of retail when i need to add $20-30 shipping, or worse yet courier fees for ammo. No location amounts to effectively posting your item without a price.

Langley has 120,000 people. My posting of my town (or at least a region/province) is not going to have a thief breaking in to steal my collection.

Some people just have irrational fear and don't understand how the internet works.

The RCMP and even private citizens with the right, legal, tools can find what city you live in and who your ISP is with one click unless you do all your CGN browsing through a proxy. Doesn't matter what your internet security is set to or what browser you use. Putting your city or at least what part of your province you live in just helps the rest of us.

I totally agree, any location specific deal must have the location mentioned if not on the traders profile.
New rule to read before access to the EE granted.

I agree 100%. If u don't post your approximate location, I am not going to inquire about your item for sale, the seller is losing potential customers.

way to bring up a good point... i was all ready to agree with everyone else.

it is very annoying when they don't list a location when they say local only, so unless i really want the item i ignore the ad. i usually send a pm that says "location......."

the other annoying thing is people who don't mark ads "pls remove"
