I loaded some 55gr bullets over 39grs of varget for my 243. Took out my BAR and after the third shot the trigger locked up an would not ####. I took the trigger group out and found single stick of unburned powder stuck in front of the trigger. Removed it and all is good. Anyone else have Varget not completely burn? I think I am going to try H380.

it's very likely because your charge is to low, your 2gr under the starting load, raise it up and you will get better ignition.

it also may or may not be the right powder for that calibre and bullet weight, but i'm not sure.

yup, sounds right. didn't get full ignition of the powder.

the hodgdon website lists a starting load of 37 up to 39.5 grains so your pretty close to the max.
consider a faster burning powder and see if it makes a difference in the amount of unburnt powder, it should hopefully.
i found anburnt varget down the barrel when i tried it with my 243 bolt gun, switched to something a bit faster and it made a deference.

Spawn-Inc has it. Load was too low for cup and core bullet resulting in case not expanding fast enough to seal the chamber and make a complete burn.

from the sounds of it, using varget in a .243 with light bullets is not the right powder, you need something faster burning for that light, varget i found is good from the 70-90 grain range only

Two things, both probably due to improper ignition. First, I haven't loaded for a 243 in a while, but that charge does seem a bit low. In a semi auto, that's trying to pull the case quick, that might be an issue. Second, try Magnus primers, if you want your car to run well, you don't use the smallest spark plugs you can find.
