Increasing the L.O.P of my sks

Guys I would like to increase the L.O.P of my sks, I've seen these slip-on rubber but pads for this very thing, online. Have any of you any of used them and how do you like them? Which one is better? I'd like to get at least another two inches if possible and would like to go with the slip on in order to be able to keep access to the tool kit storage in the butt.
If you know of something better than the slip on, then please recommend it, even though I "would" like to keep the butt storage, I wouldn't worry about that to much. I can carry the tool kit in my range bag if I have to.

The rubber slip-on extensions works perfect for me. I just need 1 inch. I like them so much that I put one on each of my SKS's.

I have the amazon one mentioned above that screws in and has a hole you can cut out to access the tools, works great.
 
OP, are you handy with tools.

If so, take off the butt plate and make an extension out of wood or rubber. I saw one last week made out of a rubber belt scraper about an inch thick topped with a butt pad made from a scrapped tire for a pick up. The tire had a side wall defect and the tread was as new. The fellow that did the work did a great job with an angle grinder to maintain the contours and I will admit, the overall effect looked fantastic. He used Contact Cement to keep everything from moving around and made the holes tight enough to stop any slop. Again, it looked really good as well as being functional. He gave it a finished look by adding a red plastic strip, cut from a container around the butt where the issue butt plate contoured. Total cost $5 plus a couple of hours time.

I will also include that if you decide to go the tire cap route that there are different types of reinforcing used. Some use steel wire and some use Kevlar etc. If you have access to a Bandag supplier????

Personally, I would just use two thicknesses of belt scraper or one thickness with an after market recoil pad. More expensive but it would look good and work well.

I'm not usually impressed by such modifications and really dislike the appearance of the slip on pads and some of the other extensions which don't fit properly.

I am considerably good with tools and my hands, I actually thought of making one out of wood, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it was a bad idea. Getting the wood to match would be a nightmare and if it didn't match it would look awful.
I'd like to see the rubber one that your talking about though, if you see it again please take a pic and post it.

2'' one makes my sks just fine for my 6'4'' frame-add 2 x 1/4'' washers when installing it or install over existing plate so the screws don't pull thru...:d
