I really don’t know where I should post this.
I lived in India for a year back in 2011 and got into the shooting scene there and made a few friends. I meet a fellow at the range in Pune who was a former supply officer in the Indian army. We talked guns and he told me about the Indian ordnance Factory and their export sales. He gave me the name of Mr Jayantak, the Director of export and Marketing. I spoke to this fellow on the phone and he said that the INSAS could be purpose build in semi auto only for any client requesting. I also asked him about surplus Enfield Ishapore 2A/2A1 .308 rifles that might be available. I was told that most were put in storage once FN FAL production increased; the rest were given to local police stations throughout the country. At the time he told me that the southern state of kerala had about 20,000 2a/2a1’s that were going to be shipped back to the factory in Calcutta and would be available for bid. Interestingly he mentioned that the last time anyone had bought a quantity was Century back in 1989. Just sharing for anyone interested that deals in large imports and with the pockets deep enough.
