Indiana Jones' Pistol?

Watching the Indiana Jones Movies last weekend.
My son asks "What kind of gun is that Dad?"
And I did not know! How embarased I was!

Please help me to be a better Father, and tell me what kind of gun Indy uses.
And anything else you know about that break open revolver would be good too.
