Hi, all;
Insofar as .22LR accuracy goes - I'm a reasonably experienced shooter (25 years plus) and I get out at least once a week to pull the trigger. However, I just can't seem to get the same gilt-edged accuracy with my rimfires that I do with my centrefire rifles.
I have several centrefire rifles that consistently put three bullets in under half an inch at 100 yards, and through the same hole at 50. (The indoor range I use is 50 yards.) I have tried a few bolt action rifles (I have a BRNO heavy barrel and a Marlin 25N) and scads of different types of ammo and while accuracy has been very good in some loads (ie: CCI Mini Mags shoot best out of both guns) I just can't get the same level of one-hole accuracy that I do out of my centrefires.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there any particular gun/ammo combination out there that would perhaps perform better. I was thinking of a Savage heavy barrel with the accu-trigger (I love the accu-trigger and have two Savage centrefires with that trigger).
Any suggestions?
