After this weekends match, my dog's are barking! Actually, the pain goes all the way to the hips.

Looking for some feedback on a decent pair of shoes well suited to being worn on a concrete floor indoor range for several hours. Comfort is paramount, and traction is a nice to have.

I'm sure others have had similar experiences, I am somewhat flat-footed (extra bone in my right foot) which I think causes me somewhat more discomfort.

So far I've heard the following recommends, ASICS, saucony and solomon speed cross.

Thanks,

Any of the makes you listed are good, just depends on your foot and the fit more than anything. Running shoes have a lifespan of about 600km or 1 yr, whichever comes first so if you are wearing shoes that are past their best before date, pitch them. My orthotics help me as well whenever I have to spend a lot of time on my feet on hard surfaces like concrete. ymmv.

Any decent pair of air-soled running shoes or x-trainers.. For long periods of mostly standing around, I went to Wally's and got some gel insoles specifically made for stationary work on hard floors (like working in a warehouse or in a factory (those things we sent to China))

If you indoor range can be as slippery as the ones I shoot at here, court shoes are the best. They have wider outsole designed for lateral movement (running shoes are designed to primarily have the shoe move in one direction - forward and back).

Plenty of options for court shoes depending on what fits.

I've found that to be true as well

This is an awesome, very informative post, with an excellent point - thanks!
Next time I go shopping for indoor range sneakers, I'll be checking out court shoes.

I've had several pairs of Merrell continuum and just love them indoors and out. I'm also flat footed and buy my shoes on comfort. I know another shooter who swears by these shoes as well and has also had several pairs for shooting IPSC.

Lol, I bought those for light-duty outdoor use (dry, relatively flat ranges).. Very comfortable and available in W-sizes for my duck-feet ;) For indoor, I wear these in loud neon yellow ht tp://www.walmart.com/ip/MENS-LIGHTWEIGHT-JOGGING-SNEAKER/34461217 and for mudbaths, I got a pair of full-on hikers that did the trick out in the sticks ranging from NV desert to drier parts of the NWT.
