Hello Friends:

Might not be the proper forum but I'm sure it will be moved if so. I'm looking for an indoor range in the Ottawa, south of Ottawa area. It would be perfect if it also had skeet range as well.

So my friendly 'nutz any suggestions on a range?

I have just joined the Vankleek Hill indoor range about 3 minutes off of the #417 east at exit #17. You can find out more info at vkhgc.ca , membership is $140/year, no skeet shooting though.

I didn't mind shooting IPSC at the RA but I was pretty sure I was gonna get shot there Monday nights on open nights....

I heard there was a big upset there and members were leaving for other clubs. Do they have insurance? Just hearsay...

From what I have heard there was some friction in the rank & file but the new executive is dedicated and is turning turning things around. Another point for the rumor mill was the club was going to loose it's premises due to the land owner selling the property but although the property was indeed sold the new owner is giving the club a 20 year leese on the building that houses the 50 yd indoor range. And yes they do have insurance.

Well Miaugu, thank you for the information. An indoor range sounds great.

The Grenville Fish & Game Club does indeed have an indoor range. It's a brand new facility. To use it you'll need 'non-toxic' & 'non-frangable' ammo up to 45's I think. The CFO has set these restrictions for this new range. Other, older ranges have grandfather protection and regular ammo can be used in them. I'm a rimfire shooter and so far haven't been able to find any suitable ammo. I know there are 'clean' brands and most use polymer bullets (copper powder in epoxy) which the CFO considers frangable so no go there. It's a nice facility, two adjustable (10-25 yds) shooting lanes plus 3 or 4 archery lanes. Days for shooting vs archery alternate. The schedule is on the GF&GC site.

I'm considering a higher end air rifle so I can shoot there next winter.
