Inexpensive 1911 auto

And we should care about this why?

I suppose you would care if you wanted to use Norinco as a base for building a competition gun (and also wanted to attend matches in the U.S.) I know, sounds crazy, but some people actually do that.

A Springfield Armory .45, perhaps? They are a bit pricey but extremely well-made and finished. I don't know if Norinco has a lifetime warranty, but SA does.

So, does this mean a Canadian can't take their (legal) Norc framed 1911 into the US for a shooting competition and then back out again?

Can someone confirm whether this is true, then?

NAA. I assume the answer is, through stupidity on the the BATF's part, all Norinco firearms are classed as "Assault Weapons" and yes, this includes handguns. Lastly, a lot of people cross the border between Detroit/Windsor for competitive matches. Regards, Richard:D

like almost everybody, my preference is along the lines of my S&W1911, springfield, valtro 1991, etc

just want to bring up an inexpensive 45 possibility, which is the ruger P345, in the decocker, not the safety model, goes for $550 retail with 2 mags, i think it is an underrated gun for the specs and price. good sight, good da/sa, well balanced with the polymer frame, and almost nothing more has to be done with it as a reliable and decent shooter. had one before, thinking of getting it again for the collection, as a plain fun shooter

anybody out there with experience and thoughts on the 345? regards to all

the P345 is awesome! just purchased one myself. its an amazing gun, super reliable, and like you said VERY underrated! I've both heard and experienced nothing but good things with this gun. Its a purchase you'll never regret.
