inexpensive .223?

The Stevens 200 is certainly available in .223 and amongst low priced bolt actions offered new, is probably the best value for money. Any shop that sells Savage probably has or can get Stevens rifles.

There's a Savage 340 in 222 in the EE right now that's sorta tempting me. You'd need to reload for it, but 222 brass is easily formed out of 223 brass, which is abundant and free if you know where to look.

looks like i found what i was looking for. i'm sold on the stevens after 10 minutes of reading up on it. now can someone tell me where i could score one of these bargains?

I just picked one up from SIR, apparently they had lots in stock, price $339.00.

This is my third Stevens-I've got one in .243 and another in .308 Win. I love these guns, as they are the most accurate out-of-the-box guns you will find, and not expensive to boot. (I actually sold my Mini-14 and bought the Stevens in .223 - as far as I'm concerned, it's twice the gun at half the price.)

There is a norinco on the EE right now.He is asking a bit much for it,New they sold for $275(if I remember right). You could always negotiate.Or you could just buy new from marstar.Wont get any cheaper than that.

That Norinco is the worst bolt gun on the market  Get a Stevens .223 and don't look back.

$475!!!!

Should be able to get that same setup new, plus dies, brass, bullets for that coin!

Rifle $330, scope $130, bases $10, rings $20, shipping $30, gst $30 = $550. For an almost new rifle that is a fair price. If you have a scope and rings then order new.

Most guys don't factor in tax, shipping even bases and rings when pricing a used rifle. The seller does have the advantage of it being gopher season so he may get that price.
I personally don't have anything against the seller and hope he gets top dollar but here on CGN guys are pretty much on top of gun values.

Cheers!!
