Inexpensive Borescope for .22 rimfire

I just had to either screw the mirror on more of less to adjust the focus.
Oh an FYI... DON'T TOUCH THE MIRROR!!!!

New Topic:

Talking to another member that only has an Ipad...(Doesn't have a USB port)

So why wouldn't this work??? Would you need an App or would it just work?

USB Camera x iPad Adapter

I couldn’t find it on Amazon.ca but it was on Amazon.com for $44US and it shows a video and an adapter for an IPhone

Does that link I provided from Amazon.ca not work any more???

I just tried it.... (Amazon.ca) an added it to my cart (with free shipping) ????

Just tried the new bore scope.
Worst and best thing I bought lately. The first rifle I tried is a great shooter but the throat looks bad.
Will take a few barrels to see what is good or bad.
But I love it.

It opens up a whole new world of knowledge, and hand wringing.

Borescopes don't necessarily give easy answers to a question like "How is the bore on your .22LR?" That's because there's more to a bore than its appearance. Uniformity of the bore is of paramount importance when it comes to accuracy, but a borescope can't reveal every aspect of a barrel. For many shooters a borescope can be an indispensable part of assessing bore cleaning efforts.

In general, it's a good idea to compare borescope images between different rifles to recognize differences. Machining marks and burrs are not what a rifle owner wants to see in his bore. While some bores may have what appear to be imperfections, they may not always significantly impair how the rifle shoots with good ammo. Borescopes are much, much better than simply looking down a bore and noting that it looks bright and shiny. That doesn't tell anyone very much at all.

At the same time, a borescope can only indicate what the bore looks like -- the appearance of the rifling, the inside of the crown, and the chamber/leade. It can't reveal much if anything about the uniformity of such things as the diameter of the bore, that is whether some parts of the bore are wider or narrower than others or if it is perfectly concentric or how straight it is (barrels may have slight "curves" making them not perfectly straight. These can't be assessed by borescope but may be better done by other means such as slugging or, more expensively, by air gauging.

Good Post

Not that you'll get this with a $70 camera from China...but I wonder how long it will be before a bore camera will do just that with laser technology advancements?

I tried mine today and it was so eye opening on how poorly I clean some of my barrels. Worth every cent. It shows the fire checking in some of my barrels. I wanted it to see throat erosion but it showed more issues at the muzzle than the throat. I would recommend this new tool.
Oh and those machining lines are in most barrels. But it doesn't stop the barrel from putting 9 of 15 in a 2.5 inch circle at 800 yards.
I really need to clean the copper out of my hunting rifle. I think!

Just a note - I ordered one last Sunday, along with other items, and the scope was 'delayed' and still hasn't arrived after missing 3 'promised' delivery dates. I guess Covid got into the supply chain ;-(

They are amazing for the money and work good in larger bores as well had mine for a month or more now great toy looking down some of my antique rifles

Awesome little gadget for the money. I've had mine for a few weeks and love it, won't fit in the 204. Haven't used it on anything over 30 cal, but pics are great.
