Anyone try this Gamo (1-Pc Mount w/1" Rings, 3/8" Dovetail) "bit of kit"? :p

Doesn't seem to cost a lot...but does it work? ;)

me too

No, but I'd be interested in that for my Henry Youth rifle. What length is it? The Henry has the soft metal receiver cover, that mount looks like it would be strong without beating up the grooves. How much is it?

I dunno if I'm allowed to mention a non-dealer  it's LeBarons :D, but a well-known company supposedly shows them in a catalogue for $30 pre-tax. ;)

Anyhow, I felt safe mentioning that it's made by Gamo....:)

"...shows them in a catalogue for $30 pre-tax..." That un-named retailer listed the Ruger USGI, a Mini-14 in .308, in their catalogue, for two years after Ruger announced it wasn't going to be made.
The Gamo mount is for a 3/8" dovetail according to their site. MSRP, Stateside is $19.95US. $24.68Cdn as of today.

The unnamed LeDealer has indeed had them in stock at some point, I got one there a couple of years ago. That cheap little mount fit perfectly on the 11mm dovetails on a Baikal .30-06 that I had, held up well to several hundred rounds of full-power loads, never slipped or lost zero. It wasn't bad looking, but wouldn't be my choice for a high-grade gun. It's aluminum, and the finish (anodized?) was easily scratched. I never tried it on a 3/8" dovetail, don't know how well that would work, if at all.

I ran into a similar issue with Walther .22 rifles. While not as cheap as $30, I would recommend the WARNE 7.3/22 rings. They work on both 11mm and 3/8 dovetail. They work well, and look great (like a mini Leupold PRW ring). Anyways though I'd share this since I already had to go through the hassle of trying to find something decent that worked.
