Inexpensive rifle

If you just want to have some cheap fun and you're not trying to hit a 1/2" ring at 200 yards, there's quite a few little guns out there that'll do everything you want, imo, and without getting all techie about it, or spending more than $200 - $300. I have a Mossberg 702 Plinkster and a Savage II F in .22LR, and a Marlin XT in .22WMR - all with pretty economical Bushnell or Simmons scopes on 'em & I know I have just as much fun as the guy on the next bench down with the $1500 set-up. Just my 2-cents.:)

Didn't the OP ask for inexpensive options? sorry but $500 is not what most would call inexpensive...

A used CZ can obviously be gotten for cheaper, but as with all used rifles, if they are a ringer for accuracy, they are typically not for sale. Entry level semi serious rimfire target rifles start at a few hundred more than this. Getting a 10/22 to shoot really nice is not a cheap adventure either. If I was looking for a good used rifle for target I would probably try finding a Brno #4 which can be found on occasion for 5 or 6 hundred bucks. They have a nice long 28" barrel ideally for good irons, or can have a scope topping them too.
