Inexpensive Scopes for .22?

I know you're looking for a variable scope but my fixed 4x power Simmons .22mag scope has been great on my bolt rifle. Picked it up last year for under $40 at LeBaron during one of their "no tax" events. Light, compact and clear optics.
Simmons also makes a similar variable scope (as someone pointed out) which I'm sure would perform well too….

That tasco has a 100yard parallax and comes with Weaver rings not rimfire rings. Probably not the best choice for a .22.
Thanks, and I cant tell ya how much I appreciate your first offer! Its awesome of you to offer it up to someone you dont know just like that!

The wife just told me we have a gift card for cabelas that isnt used either, so Im going to recheck there as well.

I used a fixed power 4x Simmons on my .22. For shooting at 50m and less, it's plenty enough. $45.

If you're looking to use it for hunting, look at shotgun scopes. They have the same parallax setting as a rimfire scope and are built tougher. They can be priced all over the spectrum but you can pick up a banner shotgun scope in your budget. I have one on my 597 and swear by it.

Shotgun parallax setting I believe is 75 yards normally where as for rimfire it is normally 50 yards

I picked up a Barska for my .22, knowing they have a somewhat spotty reputation, but a good return policy. So far it has worked well, only issue is that it gets fuzzy at distances past a couple hundred yards. Other than that, it's decent and came with rings.

Im looking for one for my sr-22 just for when I do a little hunting with it. I dont really want to spend more than maybe 125 bucks. I realize that 125 bucks wont get me a 900 dollar optic, and thats not what Im asking!

Overkill but I had this doing nothing in the closet, works great on my SR-22. Seems it's $90; http://www.shopbarska.com/Hunting_Scopes-BARSKA_6_24x50_AO_VARMINT_SCOPE.html

I have a Simmons 4x32 on my Cooey 60, which is perfect for that gun. I had a 3-9x32 AO Simmons on there which was huge and too heavy for a Cooey. Recently I bought a UTG Bugbuster 3-9 for my 10/22. Only shot with it on there once but everyone who shot it was impressed. Flip up scope caps, illuminated reticle (red and green), sunshade, glass was nice and clear and it came with QD medium rings. $126 plus tax from Amazon.

I ended up buying that tasco rimfire from Hitzy, so Im going to give that a shot, but please keep posting any inexpensive scopes you guys find that work well on the .22 caliber, as Im sure lot of guys would like to know!

I also wanna thank everyone that Pmed me with info, and scopes they had to sell, thats awesome of ya all!

ive read some good things about the barska plinker. right now im trying to decide between it and the simmons 22 mag....

I picked up a Bushnell banner shotgun scope with a circle reticule, different but ideal for small game hunting. The circle just nicely encompasses a rabbit head.
I'm a little skeptical on it being 'tougher' than a regular banner, unless someone can verify that. But for general purpose typical under 50 yard shooting,I'm quite happy with a fixed 4x and since open sights are no longer an option, the low powered scopes are just fine

Fitco scopes serve my rimfires well. They even held up on my 3.5" mossberg 535 turkey gun.
I use the fixed powered ones. Very clear actually. Bushnell banner is the decent scope for the money for a rimfire

Stretch your budget just a bit and you can get a Nikon. Excellent quality glass for the price.
