If you need to ship brass the best way I found to do it is to take the brass and tape flat to box board (beer can box) and put in a letter envelope. It has to be under 2cm thick and can go as large letter mail across Canada for a reasonable amount, about $5 from Ottawa to Vancougar. You can get quite a few pistol rounds in a large size envelop and almost 40 rifle before you hit the magic 500 gram limit.

I've done the small box think and bags and it is about $10 and more.

I agree, as I have on many occasions shipped small amounts of brass. It's true there is flat rate parcel, but that is close to $20, regardless of comparable box sizes. Not sure why other CGN'ers don't use this way to ship small amounts of brass.

Uh, you forgot to mention that these are available at less than 1% of all Canada Post locations... LMAO!

meh I always see them at the PO I got to, the one I use downtown vancouver even has a self-serve machine for packages which gives you a 10% savings too. I guess its a beta test store?

I've done this, i found the packing tape and empty beer can box is less expensive.

I first apply no-stick painters masking tape, then put the packing tape over it to make it less likely that residue will be left on the brass or bullets.

As mentioned on the CP website you could buy some in advance from one of the locations that have them and then mail them out from your CP location

Next time you are in your local post office, ask to see the gauge plate used to check packet thickness. If your mailer will clear, you'll save money.

Signing up for venture one may help.

Has anyone tried vacuum packing to keep the brass or bullets flat enough to pass as letter mail?

Thanks for the great idea! WOrks better than box board and tape....
