Info about a target cartridge/rifle

I have, in my collection, this 6.5X54mm Russian cartridge.
I can't find info on this caliber or rifle shooting it on
the Web. I remember seeing a target rifle in this caliber
in a surplus military catalog (I think it was Le Baron).
I'm not sure it was a Russian or Finnish or ...... rifle.
It was described as having a Mauser 98 action. That was in
the eighties and I no longer have these old catalogs to verify...

Anybody have info on this round or the rifles shooting it?

It was a Russian target cartridge and simply a 7.62x54r neck down to 6.5mm for competiton purpose.

Don't have experience with it but if you search 6.5x54r you will find more infor about it.

Writing it the way you mentioned (6.5x54r) I find infos... the "r" makes the difference!!!
I see lots of Mosin Nagant but nothing on a Mauser action rifle...

The Russians used reworked Mosin based rifles in this caliber in the Olympics and other competitions for a time. I was surprised to see 5 or 6 boxes of it still sitting on Milarms shelves just the other week.
