Info about Anschutz/CIL 190

Catnthehat-

I can tell you for a FACT that they (Anschutz 190 vs. CIL 190)are not the same as I have taken down both, and not only are the stocks different, but the barrel length, trigger mechanism are also different. SO THERE!!

I've never heard of an Anschutz 190 that wasn't made for CIL either.

Maybe it's a 1903 Anschutz or a different model of 190 you're thinking of. They had the early and late models.

That's becuase the model 190 is a C.I.L. model made for them by Anschhutz.Anschutz doesn't market a model 190.
The 64 triggers are all the same be it on the 310, 180 , or 190.
Stock on the 190 was changed midway through their production , but that was it, trigger stayed the same.

The Anschutz 190 looks similiar to a 1403 but smaller- birch position style stock (slopes back to trigger guard depth), 64 action, tapered barrel (I have to get my brother to measure but it seems that it is shorter than the CIL 190), single stage trigger (about 1500g pull weight) with cast alloy housing. The barrel is stamped Anschutz 190. There are a least 3 of these locally. My brother has one and if I can get a pick of it I'll post it. I was never able to find any documented info on this model when I sought out the one my brother eventually bought (the owner sold 1 of 2) but I had looked at one at my club, also owned by and elderly gent. My guess is that since these are at least as old as the CIL 190 that they may have been some kind of special local order although I don't have any first-hand knowledge of that.

Well I am buying the gun tomorrow, ok... let me rephrase that... I am giving a deposit on the gun tomorrow, until my paperwork gets back from the CFO. Then I can register and take posession of the gun. I am also buying a Rem 870 Wingmaster with a slug barrel, side mount and scope.

Once I get posession of the guns, I will take some pics of the stampings and such on the CIL so that people can debate to their hearts content.

The kind of shooting I plan to do with the 190 is strictly hobby. By the time I am ready for more serious .22 shooting, I will get a Kimber SVT or something of the sort, but for now, at 65 yards the CIL 190 should do me just fine. The person I am buying the gun from has hit a 1" target off hand several times in a row while I have been watching. To mean that means that he is real lucky every time or the gun is pretty accurate, like I said earlier, much more accurate than me.

Either way... itching to get my PAL, then register the guns, join the clubs and maybe even bring home some dinner once in a while.

Thanks again guys... great wealth of knowledgable people here.

THAT'S IT! But if you were to compare the trigger, chamber, and the crown area, they are different. My brother and I have compared the two. The one NOT marked CIL seems to be made with somewhat more care, especially the crown and trigger.

Glad you posted the pics K-98. Thanks. I have a brand new 1903. In many respects it's the same as both 190's.

I won't belabour the point any further.
