Info about finnish mosin

Hi,

i got this finnish mosin i got on a trade and have hard time finding info about the exact model. Rifle non matching, bore is good. Made in 1926, the receiver is dated 1895. Any info?

Tikka M91 built on a recycled Russian receiver. Normally the bolt will be re-numbered to match. How is the bore? And is it counter bored?

Thanks Claven, found info searching tikka and m91. I had hard time finding the rifle between m24 and m27 on mosin sites... Bore is good and not counter bored. Bolt body had 3 different serials numbers, but none match

Early tikka with a b barrel. One of the Finns first go at building their own rifles from Russian parts and a home grown barrel. The B signifies bore diameter.

Barrel Bore Diameters And Types:

Tikka produced barrels in three different bore diameters and each diameter barrel has its own marking : A, B, or C.
A bore diameter of .3106”
B bore diameter of .3091”
C bore diameter of .3087”


Not to be confused with later "B" barrels. The later "B" indicates barrel was supplied by Belgium. Some (very few) even had Belgian proofs beside the "B". I have a 1942 stamped "B" barrel on an M91.

Holy Grail Finn is what you have!!!
very first run of Mosins that came out of Tikka factory... only 10000 made, 3000 were with Heavy Stepped barrels, 7000 had same specs as Russian M91's...i cant see from the pics, which one you have, but either way its a keeper..

mine is Stepped and from 1927...... it only has CG district numbers and no SA Stamp,bolt doesnt match(which is normal on these series of rifles).....with pristine bore.......... Seldom seen specimen, hence very little info about them....not many of these are outhere, and the ones that are need to be treated with respect.....alot of them were lost during War with Soviets, some were scraped, while some were turned into M39's by Finns.... most Finns are Collectible, but these are considered "Top Notch"
