hello i have a ruger m-77 in .300 winchester magnum. i would like to buy.. if it is possible... a muzzle brake... didnt know any better.... im looking forward to having my shoulder turn back to white. thank you

I have the same rifle, it can kick some fierce with hot loads... Instead of a muzzle brake why not put a good recoil pad on it? Something like a Pachmayer Decelerator like I have on mine, or one of the highly touted SIMS ones. It made a big difference on my post surgery shoulder. For shooting from the bench you might even want to wear a Past mag plus recoil shield. I find that when hunting and shooting offhand I dont even feel the recoil, it's when sighting the rifle in at the bench that it hurts. Those muzzle brakes are so dang noisy!

Is this the tang safety model? A buddy had one and it kicked the bejesus out of everybody who shot it  My M77 MkII is in .338WinMag and doesn't kick half as bad as his M77  Have you tried a Pachmayer or Limbsaver recoil pad? It really helped with my .338 and if that doesn't work, you can always replace the stock (The Bell & Carlson Carbelite would be my first choice) Muzzle brakes can be installed but IMHO, unless you are shooting something along the lines of a .30-378 or .308 Warbird (or larger   ) I don't think they're required. Hey, you can always sell the .300 and get a .30-06 or something...just a thought

only certain ones Redd , all 3 of mine now have been quite pleasant, exept 1 that did belt you under GOOD handloads  , also alot of rifles for different people I am starting to think is in how they hold them, shot lots of guns that friends said booted hard and didnt bother me , then shot ones they didnt mind and I hated .

the only rifle I will NOT shoot without a muzzle break now is the T3 stainless lite my brothr has in 300wm, that thing is just fugging ignorant , but my T3 wood and blued dosnt kick atall in 300wm and Chris my 14 year old shoots it more than I do

if it is unbarable Frenchy there are a few options, muzzle breaks are great but they make a rifle alot louder, good recoil pads like the pacmyer decelerator and the limbsaver do wonders and magna porting is also an option if anyone in your area can do it :D
