I have cased beautifull Army and Navy shotgun that was left to me I am curious about the maker I did try to get some info from scottland university but they were not very helpfull I was hoping there might be a Canadian collector that could help

Please post pictures of all the markings on the barrels, both the proofs on the flats and any other marks. Any inscription on the top rib. And a shot looking down at the top of the receiver and the top lever. Army & Navy production information can be acquired for a specific gun from the University of Edinburgh.
Army & Navy did not make their own guns. They acquired them from a variety of makers, depending of the style of gun they wanted to offer or was ordered by a client. I have a nice 12 gauge Army and Navy made by Webley and Scott as it has the patented Webley Screw Grip closing system. Fluid steel barrels with black powder proofs that dates to early 1890's.
As Canvasback said, the Army and Navy Co-operative outsourced all of their manufacturing. You said that you contacted a University in Scotland, could you tell us which one? I believe that it is actually Glasgow University who have the records (http://www.gla.ac.uk/media/media_67061_en.pdf). I agree that photos of the action and markings are the only way apart from those records to help get any information on the actual maker, date of manufacture, etc.
I will get the pics up,- contacted Glasco University and they requested a fee paid in order to find the records which I would do that but the last time I tried a similar thing it took a year and there were guys on CGN that new more than the so called experts

The people who hold the records at University oif Glasgow are not "experts". They simply have the records and will provide information from those records for a fee. You will get some good information here once you post photos. However for all things SxS, the single best place to go for information is the DoubleGun Forums. But whether here or DG forums, its useless without out proofmark photos etc.
