Gentlemen:
I am attempting to figure out how the magazine release on this model Savage 110E Series K looked, and how many parts there were to it. The stock I have just has a hole on the right hand side where the release button once was. The magazine retainer seems to be all there. I am hoping that someone out there has one of these rifles and could take several pictures of the device to aid me in making up one. I've tried Numerich but though they show the parts in their schematic , they do not list them in their parts. Any help would be much appreciated.

The magazine for this rifle had a plunger and plunger guide in the stock, and that plunger pushed against a lever on the box magazine which then released a latch.Fairly simple in design. see the parts on this schematic. However, if you cannot find any missing parts you may be forced to find an old flat top with the parts you need. I had several of these over the years and they come up on the EE occasionally.

Two options if parts cannot be found:
Go to a blind mag stock. Remove the mag internals and mag box and place inside the mag well, and put all back together in that format. No more removable mag, but a functional rifle without much fuss.

Option 2:

After giving up on the search for parts I decided to remove the box entirely and use the more modern center feed magazine internals. By doing so you will need to let go of the old stock and consider a Boyds stock or as with option 1 a blind mag stock as a replacement. The conversion to a center feed mag did take some time as you would need to dremel out the welds on the mag box. Then dremel out the rear of the action mag well to allow for clearance when using the center feed internals. You can get these mag internals from existing magazines (easily removed by squeezing the sides of a detach mag).

Hope your search goes well and this helps some what.

Thank you for taking time to help educate me. I had looked at both the schematics that you fellows mentioned and it helped somewhat in that I think I know how many parts there seems to be. What I don't know is how those parts go together and why or how they are able to stay put in the stock. This is where a picture or a diagram would be so useful.
Once again, thanks much for your input.

Ok. I've got a 110C here that I'm working on and is in pieces. Over the next couple of days I'll try to get some photos of the various pieces and their relationship to each other.
