Just wondering if any of you have any information on
price and availability on a scope for an original Lee Enfield
No.1 MkIII Sniper Rifle. Has anyone seen one for sale recently (OR; Do you have one for sale?)
This would be either the Aldis or Periscopic Prism scopes. I have not seen the rifle yet, so I'm not sure which scope is required at this time (But I have been told it needs an Aldis). I realise that they occasionally come up on e-bay and will check there next
I'm not just looking for a scope, but am trying to get an idea of what these rifles and scopes are worth on the market. I realise that they are quite rare
and command a premium, but it would be nice to get a heads up on them
FYI This would be one of the rifles as shown on pages 451/452 of Skennerton's "The Lee Enfield Story".

Thanks,

"...No.1 MkIII Sniper Rifle..." No such thing in W. W. I. Some No. 1's may have been scoped in the field, but there was no purpose built No. 1 Mk III sniper rifle. The Aussies may have built some for W.W. II though. Or the Indians post war.

I say again..............

which WAS produced.
