Hello everyone and Happy New Year btw

I saw a Beretta 92 Brigadier recently and it peeked my interest. So I started to look up Beretta 92 variants online and came across a few that I thought might be fun to try or even own. I have a friend who tells me that they are all garbage and the one that's worth it id the one I own which is a 92fs. He says '' they're all discontinued for a reason'' . Which makes sens but if you look at a basic 1911, you would eventually tweak it to your liking like better trigger,Beveled mag well, sights and so on...

If you look up or already know bcz you own one a lot of the variants have some interesting improvements.

So I'd like to know from people who own or have tried Beretta pistols like :

Beretta Brigadier
Vertec (and which grip do you have reg 92 or 1911 style)
Elite
Elite a1
Elite 2
Steel 1
Beretta Billenium (really nice looking one for sale on gun broker)

Does having a shorter slide like the Centurion make a dif and what's the deal with the 2 tone inox (can't they make it the same color...top looks great and then you look at the frame and ...yuck)

Do all these models use the same 92 mags/96 mags?

Even your thoughts on the Beretta compact 13rd or 8 rd and do you find that 9mm is the right cal or do you find .40 better?

I'd love to see your picx of your guns if you have some or if you've modified it in any way.

Any problems I should know about any of the models ? my 92sf was bought in 1989 and I've put 5000 rds +/- and still no problems

Thanks , looking forward to your replies.

I'm a beiever that the basic 92FS/M9 configuration is VERY hard to beat. I personally own the stainless made in Italy version but have had the black one too. Both were great, though the stainless seems to clean up a little easier after a lot of shooting.

I think to save money all current stainless production uses the same controls (black) as the standard M9 variant, but up until a few years ago the Italian made Inox models had inox controls - they show up gently used pretty often if you want to go that route.

The Elite and Brigadier series were nice, I think they discontinued those due to low sales once the 90-two was announced, while traditionalists always preferred the 92FS anyhow.

Ive got the Beretta 90-two pistol in 9mm and soon a 92 elite 2 in 9mm as well. my 90two has never failed on me ever and is always my goto pistol. It is wearing the slim grips which gives it the vertec grip profile and with some grip tape it is perfect.

When i get my elite 2 Ill compare it to my 90two and see if there more or less the same. Though looking at the specs online the elite 2(980g) is SLIGHTLY heavier than the 92(950g) and the 90two(920g).

On the Beretta forums some people just like to collect the discontinued Beretta's because if all the different versions of them and there sheer love for them. If i had the money i would collect a few.

basically they are all the same. brigadier has a heavier slide and 90two has 2 interchangable grip ptions. bottom line is u cant go brong with a Beretta.
