I have just receved in an estate some guns, one of whitch is a Breda. It looks like an M1 Grand that was made in Italy,so I think it is 30-06? What are they worth? One of them has a scope mount that seems to have been welded on to the side? Any info would be great. TKS.I'm still working on the pics.

Marstar was Selling them for about $300 or so. Are you interested in selling?
*eta* anything "Welded" to the reciever would most likely decrease value.

There were some "sniper" Breda's/Beretta's that were amongst the thousands of Danish M1's that Lever sold a few years back....these had crude brackets welded to the left side of the receiver. I think he charged $50 more for these M1's.

Garand for $300.00? Been a long time since I've seen one that cheap....even a Breda.....bring up some pics before selling it.....

The Garand made by Breda is a good gun who get premium price in today market. Many Breda have matching serial numbers and wear all the latest improved parts designs. This gun worth at least $600 and more in the $700-$800 range and if it is in good condition probably more. There is not too many Garand for sale around, so your gun got good value. Post pictures, you might have a jewel there. More need to be known to make a good assessment.

God I hope they didn't weld anything to it. Too many potential issues from warpage and wrecking the heat treatment. I just traded my Breda for an M1D.
The D uses a bracket thats mounted on the barrel. If the receiver is welded
its scrap metal IMO. The parts all by themselves are worth plenty though.
Easily $600 in parts. Cheapest working Garand I bought this year was $400 and it still needed some work.

IIRC, Lever was selling them by the pallet-load for $199 each, or $249 for "hand picked" rifles. I believe he also did a "family pack" special of $500 for 3 rifles.
And yeh....I should have kept the three that I bought.

Breda Garand

Please, don't bury the corpse until declared dead!
A Breda is ALWAYS good news. Have it checked by a reputable gunsmith and, if everything's right, buy it!:dancingbanana:
And if something is wrong, buy it anyway: it's worth a lot more, just for parts.:)
