True but for me with dangerous game 6 is better than 3.
YMMV.
What amazes me is with these older rifles is the quality of things like the magazine floor plate. It is machined steel. Machined. And done well.
I have a 602 in a 416 Rigby and have owned 3 previously in 375 H&H and another in 450 Ackley. They are a very big rifle and well suited to the Rigby and bigger but just too big and heavy for a 375 H&H in my opinion. These are a 100% reliable rifle and have many very desirable features for a heavy for dangerous game. There are nicer heavies out there but certainly not for this dollar value, a true magnum Mauser action with a 5 round magazine and forward barrel recoil lug and bolt for less than 1200 bucks in most cases............pretty tough to beat !!!!! But do spend the extra money, when you hunt Africa with one, for the gun bearer..........they are quite a load when it's 55 degrees............
BINGO! ... I think the "standard" model with the classic style stock is a little lighter ... and IMO much nicer looking than the so-called "deluxe" model monte carlo versions..... but feature after feature after feature - close examination of one of these rifles simply cant help but impress someone who is familiar with bolt action rifle designs.
