Hey guys, I’m looking to make an ejector rod for a M1858 Lafaucheux in 11mm pinfire. My gun does not have one. Are they supposed to have detent to hold them forward? One end must thread on and the other is machined in place?

Thanks

Can't see if your revolver has a detent/friction spring that bears against the ejector rod. I've made pinfire ejector rods by upsetting the rear end of the rod and threading the front end for a knob. Just have to find some rod of the right diameter.

Yous looks like it has a small threaded hole on the bottom of the ejector guide. A small screw goes in there which holds a spring that locks into a notch on the ejector rod and also applies pressure on the rod so it doesn't move by itself. The front has a threaded knob, the rear a small over-sized screw which keeps the ejector from falling out.
