Fellow Gunnutz,

Im trying to gain some info or shed some light on entering the world of shooting in the ISSF or SFC. After trying to navigate through their sites and such I have had no luck really finind solid direction in how to go about it. I shoot PITA often and I've gotten different stories or a real point to start. Can anyone who knows exactly how I need to go about this or were to start, or anyone with experience in this lend a helping hand? Thanks for reading!!

Hello Moosehunt89,

The only requirement to enter SFC-santioned competitions (local, provincial and national competitions) is to be a member in good standing of the SFC, register and pay the registration fees.

Participation in mainstream ISSF sanctioned events (word cups, continental championships, PanAm, CAT Games, World Championships, OG) is open to current members of the either Canadian National, Development Teams or/and the Junior HP Program for junior events. All entries in ISSF events are being processed exclusively by the SFC, no submissions coming from individual athletes will be accepted.

The selection criteria for being nominated to one of the HP teams are published on the SFC website at http://sfc-ftc.ca/en/the_sfc/selection_criteria.html.

International "Open" competitions such as Grand Prix or invitational tournaments accept registrations on a first come first served basis.

I hope this helps. Feel free to PM me should you require further information.

Cheers
Florin
