Info on Ithaca

Does anyone have any information on the value of the following. I have a very nice single trigger over/under 12 ga that says Ithaca model 500. I just can't find it in any of my books.

Sounds like an Ithaca import made by SKB in Japan. It may also be a Valmet from Finland? Ithaca imported several firearms from around the world. All were of very good quality. I don't have a clue what it may be worth though.

Yep, SKB. Those are well made guns, in the same value neighbourhood as a Citori, roughly. $600-1,000? as a guess.

Ithaca 500

If you are going to purchase a 70's Ithaca, I strongly suggest that you remove the stock and look for cracks. I have several problems with the 500 stocks in an otherwise excellent o/u

The SKB Ithacas are all very nice and well built SGs.

I've owned three over the years and a M200E in 20ga is on the top of my list of guns I wished I had not sold!!
