Hey guys,

My dad got this firearm from a relative but I'm not sure what it's chambered for as there is no marking stamped on it. I did a search but didn't come up with much.

Markings are
Marlin 1894
patented oct 11, 1887 apr 2 1889 aug 1 1893
120618

I looked up the number on google and apparently it's date of manufacture is 1895.

Anyone want these things? I know I'll never do anything with it and would prefer having something I can use frequently.

Any help would be great!

Cannot tell you too much as I am really a winchester guy. it is apparently an antique and unsure as to the caliber. i think it may be a 38-55 0r 30-30. I do not know what you would want in trade but we may strike a deal if you pm me. thank you

Probably a .44/40, .38/40 or a .32/20, the 1894 Marlin was chambered for pistol rounds same as the 1892 Winchester.
Seems to me it should have a small calibre stamp on the top of the barrel in front of the receiver, if it's been carried a lot it may be rubbed off.
They are a neat old rifle, well built but not the collector interest of a Winchester.
If it's in any kind of shape at all, I think it would be worth $500 and up.
