info on ROSS 22 cal. trainer

my buds got an original not altered 22 rimfire ross training rifle!! ??
straight pull, full wood, rear peep site,
any idea on value, its not fer sale, he inherite it from his fathers collection, so hed like to know.

Is it military issue or civilian sale? Military will have stock markings and property stamps. Condition? As with any collectible, originality and condition are important, and affect value.

I've owned a few of them. The average price is around $400 (for real nice ones, all complet and good marking). If he ever decides to shoot it, make sure he uses standard and not high velocity .22 ammo. These old girls were not designed for the fast stuff they sell these days. And really, for all of the older Enfield trainers I think you'll find standard works better. But using high velocity ammo in a Ross trainer can damage it!!
