Info on SMLE target gun.

the Parker Hale sight was added privately for target shooting, but the rifle looks otherwise unmolested, thus I would not call it a bubba, rather an original No1 mkIII* that has been fitted with a commercial target sight. from what I can see in the top pic the bayo lug looks intact? Even if it is ground, that is a very minor piece to replace.

That is a sporting aperture sight, not a target sight.
The barrel should not be 22 1/2". If it is, the barrel has been shortened, along with the stock and handguard. The bolt handle has been modified, of course.
The rifle was one of the ones assembled by BSA early in WW2. Bubba has customized it.

Huh, I didn't know that. I thought all the Brit factories had moved on to the No.4 by then.
