Info on upgrading a Savage .308

Hello all, I recently bought a Savage Axis ll XP in .308, good out of the box and maybe should have gone the tactical .. the normal barrel
gets quite hot after 6 rounds.

So my question is can the barrel be changed to a heavy barrel and I understand Boyd's does have a stock for this rifle, or any suggestions for keeping the barrel cooler haha.

I do beleaf the calendar points to the warmer munths oh thuh yeer. Take mawr'in one chewter wid yeeze.

Wait a few minutes between shots to cool the tube. The beasty ain't a military or varmint rifle. If ye want a
heavy barrel, then check out Mystic Precision for a Savage pre-fit unit.

A heavy bbl takes longer to heat up, but also takes longer to cool off. Take more guns to the range and shoot shorter strings. I don't shoot more than three at any time.
