Have these been recalled or another generation made? I was talking with a dealer yesterday who said they had appx 50 percent failure rate and a terrible warranty. I'm all for the design and wanted one until they told me they would never sell them again. Are these new?

I bought one. Had a problem. Contacted the distributor who told me to mail it back and they sent me a new one. New one works great and distributor stood by the product.
