Information on EAL 303

The EAL was an RCAF inspiration. Anyone else notice the colour of this sling? It's blue.

I've had a look and find RGG7 is correct. My military style EAL has CAL on it too and it's obviously refering to calibre after .303. I guess it's not Canadian Arsenals Limited as I hoped...:( Note the nice CA on the loopless trigger guard...also note that this rifle does not have CA on the barrel knox near the rear sight.

But, that is one of the earmarks of EAL rifles...no loop. We see some that do but most don't. I suspect they were made for the EAL production run.

Note in the second post that is a different rifle, mine is high 4###, his is low 5###, neither of them has CA on the barrel.

I know what you mean about highly polished...all of the EAL's I've handled that appeared unissued or little used had a very nice, glossy blue finish on them.

Have a look at this interesting thread on Milsurps.com.

Note Bwingpilot's rifle, which has the proof on the right side of the barrel, CA on the barrel knox and also the highly glossy bluing which is pretty typical of EAL's I've seen.
