I'm new to the handgun game and need some advice. I have a chance to buy a good to Very good condition Inglis HP with the tangent sight (MK 1) with all matching #'s and the lanyard ring. It comes with 2 JI mags. It also comes with what might be original or reproduction wooden holster/stock. My question is what's this package worth and is there much of a market for it if I decide to sell it? If anyone would like pics to help with there advice pm me your email.
Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you are looking at a Chinese contract pistol, should have a number then CH as the first three in the serial number. It will have three separate locations for the serial number, slide, barrel and frame. If it is a Chinese contract, value is around $1300 with the wood stock. Resale is very good on Inglis WWII pistols.

make sure the tangent sight does not have a crack in it. I have passed up 2 with cracks. Great piece if you can get it, like the other guy said make sure it has a prefix of CH

$1200-1400 is a good price of the value with an original stock, $900-1100 if its a repro stock.

If it's a good deal you should probably buy it, but it's not something to shoot all the time because it's a collector piece. You might find you want to be that collector and then you've done well. If you don't want to collect it, you'll have enjoyed it a bit and then you'll get your money out of it and get something more suitable for just shooting.

Recent AUCTION prices on Inglis 's in Ontario has gone through the roof......most are trading at 1500 plus WITHOUT the shoulder stock....stock anywhere from 300 to 500 at shows and auctions. Highest I have seen in the last 6 months was a fixed sight model that sold through auction in Ontario and went for $3250 Plus 15% buyers premium and then tax on top of that. That ones condition was about 8/10.
