A friend of mine has an all-matching 5CH###X Inglis Hi-Power, similar to the one pictured here, which he's owned for several decades. It was blued when he bought it and does not show any signs of ever having been Parkerized.

I can find nothing online, or in any of my books, which talks about Chinese contract Hi-Powers having been blued at Inglis. Does anyone know if they were manufactured this way or if this was done after they had left the factory?

I remember a large number of M-1 Garands, M-1 Carbines, Colt 1911 pistols, Springfields 1903 rifles and Browning H-Power pistols were imported by Century Arms about 25 years ago. All reblued arsenal refinished by the Chinese.

I remember that too. There were also c96's. Lever arms was still selling off the dregs maybe 15 years back, after century closed shop over illegal smuggling of Garand rifles into the USA.

The guys that were caught exporting Garands were in Toronto, Fulton Armoury was also involved on the US side.

So much fail in that article...

The M1s were standard issue for U.S. soldiers during the Second World War. They are restricted firearms in Canada
restricted??? since when?

While the agreed statement of facts alluded to gun collectors as the prospective buyers of the M1s, Mr. Barry told reporters afterward that the assault rifles were most likely bound for combatants in the Third World

FFS... Calling a Garand an "assault rifle" is like calling a Ford F-150 a Formula 1 Race Car.
