I'm curious about the availability of WWII Inglis High-Power pistol magazines. A friend of mine recently pick one up one (1944 Navy) and wanted to lay his hands on some additional magazines. Any suggestion as to where to go to find them?

Can you explain what you mean by 1944 Navy?

Instead of finding original Inglis mags made during WWII I would buy more recent production hi-power mags for shooting. In the CF I have heard the Mec-Gar mags work very well with the Inglis hi-powers.

It shouldn't be hard to find new-production hi-power mags.

Well I maybe misquoting him as to which particular model he has but I almost certain he said 1944 Navy. Your idea of using modern Mec-Gar mags is a great suggestion which I'll pass on to him. He has two original JI marked mags which he really doesn't want to use.

If he picked up the Inglis recently listed on a popular vendor's website, I'd be interested in seeing some photos to see what markings it carries to indicate Navy history. Bring on the photos. We love looking at other people's stuff.

I don't know where he picked it up. I'll certainly have a close look at and try and talk him into letting me take some pics of it. What should I be looking for in particular? Is the Inglis suppose to have serial numbers on all it's major components (Frame, Slide, Barrel etc.)? Are there special markings that I should be looking for to help properly identify it's pedigree?

There were a number of inglis high powers that were sold here that were used by a European navy and had a Teflon type finish.
