Inglis HP Question

Can anyone tell me if standard Browning/FN magazines will work in the Inglis version of the Hi-Power?

I picked up an Inglis the other day the price was right and I love the HP. It seems to be in good condition, although it needs some trigger attention. I've owned a few HPs over the years, none currently, but never an Inglis.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, mags are the same. Most internal parts also are interchangable, with main difference being the extractor style on some versions (internal vs. external). Triggers are easy to improve, the mag safety is the main culprit.

Gratuitous Inglis pic attached :)

"...improve the trigger/mag safety..." Take out the mag safety(it's a European quirk). Field strip then push out the wee pin on the trigger(left to right as I recall) and remove the plunger and spring from the back of the trigger inside the frame. Just remember that without the mag safety, the pistol will go bang with no mag in the pistol. You can change the springs as well.

Mag safety removal

Sunray: I punched out the tiny pin and tried to remove the mag safety without removing the trigger group. The mag safety was able to rotate but would not come out even after I tried to pry it. I remember you saying that one does not have to remove the trigger group to do that but I couldn't. any words of wisdom you can offer?

Thanks,
Jabbaman

Hi. When I did my Inglis, long ago, the plunger just dropped out the back with the trigger in the frame. This is an Inglis we're talking about is it not?
A commercial HP has another pin in it. Go to the Gunparts site, then Start here, then 'B' for Browning and look at the exploded drawing. There a wee pin on the front too. Can't imagime why the plunger would rotate and not come out though.
