Hello!
Sunday, while visiting a friend for a new rifle, he showed me a roughly dewatted Bren gun. He had bought it a few years ago but now his focus has changed from firearms to horses and he's comtemplating the idea of selling it.
The firearm is complete but the dewatting has left ugly scars on the receiver.
What do you think such a piece can usually bring?
I'm going to take pics in a few weeks when I return for a picture taking session with his horses.

I assume it is one of the demils that got released years ago. Usually they were cut vertically through the receiver, barrel, etc., with varying degrees of brutality.
These sometimes got rebuilt into cosmetically restored decorators.
I saw one that was rebuilt into a functional gun (legally, way back when).
As far as value goes, one of these could be a good basis for a project, but I would suspect that the value would be somewhat less than that of an externally unmarred tastefully done dewat. Can't belive I said that, I am unenthused about dewats in general.
