Inglis-made Bren gun

Don't know about de-acts, but my Inglis cost $5000. It works very well.:D

With pig ugly Mac-10's going for at least $2000 for full-auto in the US nowadays, you must have bought your Bren some time ago.
FA is rising faster than real estate down there.

I remember when the big issue plain and simple was why would people collect deactivated firearms when you cant fire them.

Now its changed to ok, well I cant shoot mine now either, ummmm but its still a firearm? Of course its still a firearm but it cannot be fired.

Legally one is a firearm sure but realistically in the big picture there both inert objects if you cant shoot them. Both just sit in the safe doing the exact same thing, nothing unfortunetly.

One thing I do feel is there is a greater chance of the deact bren surviving the years as a deact than as a prohib because as said its just a inert object and the other is considered an evil firearm.

Well all know how the government feels about firearms compared to inert objects.

Some may and do feel that the only true way to preserve or save a firearm is to disguise it as an inert object. But some also feel its another way to make a profit as it doubles your market to those without licenses. Either way I could care less. Either way its a ####ing tragedy that it our gov has made it so and I agree with most of you re: this.

Now to state deacts are simply just inert objects concerns me greatly, as it implies there is no history with them and that is how we got into this whole problem in the first place.

My inert object still says Inglis MKI, and my Sten's Long Branch.

There's more to our history than the ability to go boom

Last price I saw in Small Arms Review was 25K and that was for a Dealers Sample, not a transferrable gun.
Yes I did buy it a long time ago, and not many were imported.

As for reminiscing, the choice was between a Lewis and a Chauchat for the same money. That was sold in 1962.

The second one which I still have cost me a New colt M1911 and $100.

As i was posting before, I was wondering what a transferable Bren might be worth. I have no idea, but was thinking ?maybe? $30K to $40K for a nice one.
Would that be a reasonable guess?

Nope thats about right, hell a ####ty full auto (not semi) MAC10 will set you back about 10 grand and a Sten about 7:eek: if I remember right

These things must get gold plated when they cross the border or age a bit.
