Inglis Mk I

Thats a nice piece Grant, and your right to be proud of it!
I also have one of the Belguim No. 1s - mine's refinished in the teflon coating that they seemed to apply to only some of thier refurbs
(I'm not sure why they didn't do them all?)
Any Inglis is a great addition to anyones collection IMO.

I believe my shoulder stock/holster is original but, to be honest, I don't know the difference between it and a repro so...

Thanks for all the great info Mr GrantR! I got in late tonight so, I will put it up tomorrow night.

Regards,
Henry;)

I guess that all depends on the buyer. Personally, I got rid of a very good CH series with a stock, so I could afford a basically unfired T series.
Different strokes for different folks.

Hi
Did you get the info on the Scope?
Cheers

Since we are showing, I know nothing about these, but believe mine was made in July 1944...just beautiful firearms!

There is a thread asking if Canada needs to replace the HP; any of you fellows think it needs replacement? In my opinion it can serve as long as they can be kept in good repair and until Canada switches from ammunition other than 9mm for it's service pistol.

Not sure how many are still left, but Canada has brand new Inglis HP's in stores, they've been issuing them in Afghanistan as needed...so basically why replace them when there are still new ones to issue?

In "Inglis Diamond: The Canadian High Power Pistol" (published 2001) Clive Law indicated that of the approximately 21,000 Inglis pistols the Canadian Forces still had in inventory "many have never been issued". I have a recollection that he indicated that the number of unissued pistols was in the order of 15,000 - but that figure is not included where I found the above (page 193) - perhaps it was mentioned in some of the private communications he and I have had ....

I love my Inglis pistols, and my own opinion is that Canada really doesn't need to replace them anytime soon.

Some time ago I posted a number of pictures of Canadian service personnel carrying Inglis pistols in Afghanistan .... all the images having come from a DND website. Can't locate that thread now (must have been about three years ago, I think) but here are just a few of the photos ....

And just to take it back full circle, here is the earliest dated photo I have ever located showing Inglis pistols on issue in the NW European theater - a medal awarding ceremony on 30 November 1944 -

I opine that the Inglis High Powers are the nicest pistols on the planet.
Here's mine. Sept. '45, I think? Anyone care to clarify?
