The picture ap doesnt work for me
I was wondering if anyone can re number a new Inglis barrel to my gun.
Gun is perfect except for the barrel. I have new Inglis barrels

Regarding the black military holsters. I was wondering why there used
to be lots of them around in mint condition. But, no belts, handcuff cases etc
This was in the Vancouver area.
Same idea regarding the military web holsters, no belts or magazine pouches.
The only place I have seen the magazine pouches was in America, many years ago

Mine. It must have come home from WW2 in some officer's kit bag. It was carried very little and fired even less. It was mint when I got it, with a 95% Lend Lease Decal which has sadly long since worn off from my own use. Little did I know at the time. The current decal is a duplicate. I bought this Hi Power for $600 probably 20 years ago as a personal practice shooter. It is still in far better condition than any Hi Power that I was ever issued during my 32years of infantry service.....

That is a very nice pistol! Too bad about the decal, but it looks to be in great shape otherwise. It probably wasn't used in WWII since the 5T serial numbers were not made until April 1945. I think I remember reading some where that only the 0T serial numbers were used in WWII.

Several years ago, my Regt received a batch of Brownings, brand new crest, never fired, mint pistols to augment those sent into theatre with the troops. I knew people who would literally drool at the thought of acquiring one of these pristine works of art. None of my fellow soldiers felt this and all they could think of was "yeah brand new guns, shoot em like ya stole em."

I carried a Chinese marked No2* while in theatre in 2008. Pulled it out of its long term grease and it shot like a house on fire. I kept it in a modified quick release holster on my frag vest because it was easier to yank out up there when sitting in a Bison drivers hole when it was needed. I was sad to hand it back in September that year.

Better than getting dropped into a smelter or chopped up. This one is on the wall at the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess ‘Snake Pit’ in Edmonton Garrison.

do they have to deactivate those ones on display in CAF establishments, or are they just well bolted to the plaque?
They are all de-mil (deactivated military) firearms on display.

I saw a good number of fun stuff. A couple of PF Irish contract No4Mk2 Enfields hung, a couple of FN-C2’s and a bunch of Sterling C1 SMGs all de-mil and displayed similarly to that High Power.

Not an Inglis, but an FN Herstal build. By the serial number 54722, looks like a 1950 or 1951 build. Came with rosewood grip scales but they were cracked from overzealous screw tighteners. I put a Pachmayer grip set on it. I had a spare complete Inglis upper assembly that I bought from Marstar on the early 2000s and had on hand. The magazines are all Hi Power pinned to ten, even the bloody long ones that I’d never seen before.

Probably not the Inglis this thread was intended for... Curious how this works out from the copyright point of view? Not that the current owners of the Inglis trademark care that much probably... If it's even protected by now. If anyone is curious here's their site https://inglismfg.com

That’s a remarkable clone. I’ve never seen full case gardening on a high power before

If the Americans get rid of their dumb laws around stocks on pistols, I could see some nice Turkish clones coming in like this classic model below.... :)

I am certainly not an expert but have seen a couple of these pistols that came back from NW Europe circa 1945 and they looked pretty clean but didnt have the decal on them. I always presumed the decals only went on the pistols destined for the far east

Because that's not actual case hardening. It's the same colouring crap Chiappa does to their pimp shined garbage.
Possibly. Hard to tell for me, I'm not super knowledgeable about case hardening. Seems very close to the case hardening on a colt from the 60s that I have. And the price to buy the blued vs this was the same so meh - it's not likely to be used much, it goes well as a conversation piece with my real Inglis... And it's not a clone of the Inglis by any stretch - it's the same as the other turk hp copies so a clone of the late European HPs at best. I think we had them imported here under the Canuck brand pre-freeze.

I'm much more interested in the trade mark violation here.
