At the end of the war, the President of Inglis gave special pistols to some important people, like the Prime Minster.
According to the book, McKenzie King was to be presented the gold plated No. 2 Mk1* serial No. EX30
Sadly, the LIEbral died before he could receive it.
I don't know how many were given. I am guessing about 100. The number might be mentioned in Clive's book.
They are rare and valuable.
My book is a first edition, so not sure of there were revisions or add ons.
No doubt the information is probably not 100% in areas.
Referencing the 'Diamonds' from Pg. 126:
"This logo appears only on pistols which were made during the last few days of production in 1945, which tend to fall into specific serial number ranges in both models."
Late No1 Mk1* pistols marked approx. beginning 5CH9200
No2 Mk1* run from 9T3155 to 9T3165 first range, and approx. 9T3615 to 9T3630, second range
There are 15 known, noted serial numbers on page 133; your's not one of them.
But again, it seems reasonable they made more than 15 in those last few days, so a definitive list might likely not exist.
