Inherited a Side-By Side! - Need Help who is Ruko Canada?

A neighbour no longer wanted this side-by-side so he gave it to me. His license expires and he does not want to renew so had gave it to me for nothing! He is a nice guy.

It is a Ruko of Canada side by side 12 G 2 3/4 inch.

Two triggers, nice engraving and everything! I wont sell it but I am crurious if anyone knows what its worth? I cant find anything about Ruko of Canada online. This is the Pioneer model.

Any info anyone has would be great.

PS will both chambers fire if I pull Both triggers at the same time?

It weill fire if you pull both trigers. Why you'd do that is beyond me. Can't see a lot in the pics but it looks pretty nice for a boxlock. Not a high quality gun (not familiar with them though) but should be a fine upland piece.
 
Ruko Outdoor Products is an importer and distributor of sporting goods products since 1956, located in Mississauga On. The name on the shotgun is that of the importer, not the manufacturer. You have a very nice boxlock there, and although your photos do not reveal a lot of detail, I would guess it is of Spanish (Basque) origin, but I could be wrong. It is a mid grade gun, with sideclips and engraving. If you break the gun down and look at the water table and barrel flats, they will be stamped with proof marks that will tell you the country of origin, and perhaps the age. Choke markings should be evident as well. Post a pic or describe the marks and I will attempt to interpret them, if you have no local resources available.

This is a great gun for the uplands, and for waterfowl with tungsten matrix or bismuth shot. I would not shoot steel out of the gun. Yes, if you pull both triggers, both barrels will fire - but don't do it, it is hard on the wood and the barrel hook.

As for the gun's value, well, it is priceless. You cannot buy a new one, and the circumstances regarding its acquisition will never be duplicated. Write your neighbor a proper thank you note and assure him that you will take good care of it, as he obviously has. You have a fine shotgun in what looks like very good condition - hang on to it.

Not a bad lookin' gun. Take some sharper pics and we'd be happier, though!

Kind of a unique configuration; splinter foreend, twin triggers, but then a pistol grip and cheek piece! You will enjoy upland hunting with this nice game gun. If you can, let us know what is stamped on the underside of the barrels.

What does "boxlock" mean?
