I recently inherited the .22 from my father and would like to get restored to show him and possibly take gopher hunting. It was the first gun I shot (50+ yrs ago!) my father shot and possibly my grandfather. It was purchased by my great grandfather.
Although I have some knowledge of the personal history of the gun, any history of the trombone in general would be appreciated. date of manufacture etc. I will document as much as i can remember and keep a book about it in the gun case.

Dad had mentioned that the barrel may have been shortened due to an ice jam incident with my great uncle, comparing to others pics it seems to be the correct length?
I have attached some pictures, I am located in SW alberta but can ship to the right gunsmith if need be.
I would like to keep the overall condition untouched, but want to ensure safe use for future generations. Not sure if its ever been looked at and has been sitting in a cabinet for 30-40 yrs.
Some things i know need attention are;
- Rear sight bent (and possible front) in my teens it was always high left.
- It used to jam quite often
- Magazine tube is missing
- Magazine mount is loose on front of barrel
Thanks for all those that reply.
