Inherited this from my Dad!

They are easy to clean. I find them extremely accurate. They also seem to stand up quite well and are very dependable. With proper reloads (even factory ammo) they will fill the freezer. The only problem I have ever had with 760s is reloaded imperial brass. Not sure why but some of my 760s don't like reloaded imperial brass but factory imperial ammo works great. Crappy brass maybe???

Congrats, was a time when the woods were full of fella's carrying those rifles. Nice hand me down for sure. My Grandfather left me a Model 71 and a Model 64. As much as I'd love a new 270 Ruger #1 it would be sacrilegious to kill a deer or moose without the hand me downs!

My ol'-man has a 742 in .30-06 and has taken a lot of deer with it in the last 30 years or so. Has very nice furniture.
I do not want to see that rifle in my safe for a very long time.

Beauty! If you get a chance you should take it out hunting, something about carrying a gun in the field that was handed down or passed on. Coincidently I've had some really lucky days while carrying some of the ones that were passed on to me. Congrats!

Nice!
My Dad passed a 760 in .308 down to me some years ago.

She's a beauty of a rifle, and considering today is Fathers' Day, maybe I should pull it out and give 'er a good scrub.

Just picked one up the other day, 760 in 30.06, took it to the range and it shot 1 1/4 MOA at 100 yards with 165gr Federal Sierra Game King BTSP ammo and nearly the same at 200 yards. If I hadn't messed up the third shot it would have shot ¾ MOA.
