I guess I'll be getting gifted a Snider in the near future.Not sure if this one's been Bubba'd or not as I haven't seen it in 40 years just hanging on the farmhouse wall back east. I'll do some reading in the meantime on reloading for it and hope the bore is still serviceable.I see some use plastic 24ga hulls and a ball or with dies 24ga brass and a conical.Would be neat to take a deer or moose with one.I imagine parts can be hard to find if needed? I wonder if Bill Blair will declare this a weapon of mass destruction made only for killing people as quickly as possible?

All the makings/fixings for shooting the snider can be obtained from Martyn of X-Ring Services in Spokane WA. Meanwhile, take a look at friend Rob on Youtube with his series on reloading and shooting the Snider. I dare say that there are places in Canada that can also help out with reloading supplies, but you'll have to wait until somebody here comes along - I live in UK and I'm not savvy with Canadian dealers.

My Snider use as a deer gun didn't go well...I practiced for a week hitting a tobacco can sized bullseye every time at 75 yrds...then had a big mule doe stop & look at me at 35 yards...and I missed her clean.
Yes, Martin at X-Ring can mail his reworked brass shells to Canada. He had free shipping states side so I had them mailed to my friends cottage just across the border in NY and unfortunately they are still there due to the closed border.
Will Bilozir in Alberta has Magtech 24-bore brass suitable for conversion to .577 Snider. He also has 32-bore for strange things such as my Remington. Price is C$44.95 for a box of 25, either size. He also stocks wads to fit both sizes, these in 250 bags. If you want to shoot plastics, he has those also, either Cheddite ot Fiocchi. Get him at bilozir.net.
Higginson Powders has Lee dies for .577, but you need a Rockchucker or equivalent press in order to use them. They are Lee full-line stockers and offer many items ar very close to US prices.

I thought that you needed a larger thread press than the 7/8" standard size usually found on most presses. Neither of mine can take the larger Lee dies.
RCBS Rockchucker was the original press made for the larger-diameter dies. Lee has their own, their Classic Cast. I believe other makers, possibly Hornady, also have presses for the big dies. But the reason I specified the Rockchucker is because of the larger-diameter dies pretty much required by the .577 round.
I know that a few years ago there WERE standard British-made 7/8x14 dies available for the Snider round, but they had a definite tendency to crack when forming casings.

There is a new reloading die maker from New Zealand on the Facebook Snider Enfield page that makes a 3 die set for 7/8" ,,, for .600 or .577 bullet diameter.

A tale of woe! I switched from Shaw internet, meaning I lost the Shaw e-mail account I had foolishly set up as my main account years ago ...
Then, for some reason, CGN would not recognize my attempts to sign in, and all attempts to recover my password (or otherwise regain access) required communication ONLY to the e-mail address I had registered under ... hence impossible! Had to start over ... thus losing my Exchange rating, etc. STILL don't qualify to list items for sale in the Exchange forums ...
