Inhertited a 1022.

OK. Just got back from the range and its a keeper. Again unusual for a 1022 with me. Shot a bunch of 10 shot groups in the cold and seems to keep everything under 1 inch at 50, which is as good as it gets with one of these. Forgot I had installed a Volquartzen hammer and sear for my buddy 5 years ago. Very nice trigger too. I was so imprest with it that I took off that cheap Bushnell and installed my Tasco World Class Mildot 3x9 scope from my Savage Mark 2 BTVLSS. Its much better than the Bushnell and the Savage is now for sale. But aw gee. Now I have to go back to the range and sight it in again. Being retired sucks.

If it has a 22" barrel, its likely a stainless birchwood sporter. These are a Lipsey's dealer exclusive. The model number is 1149. The blued version of the same gun was model number 1150. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on 15 of these when they were first offered here and they all found new homes within a couple weeks. They were not offered with walnut stocks, but rather a birch stock and of the 15 I had, some had much nicer wood then others

cabellas shows them on line looks like a DSP but stainless and has a 22 inch barrel. Surprising they are cheaper than a DSP. ( $349) Check it out.

Bought last week stainless birchwood sporter. (Lipsey's dealer exclusive)

I agree but then again I'm old as well.

Nothing wrong with being old.....join the club. :)

Just means you have been around and should demand respect!

Those are sure beautiful 10/22s you guys got there............

I have an older one from the early 90s with just the plain birch stock that shoots quite well. Have not shot it in likely 20yrs now......story of my life with my guns.
